One small pill, floating over any app
Notes, Transcript, and Prep live in a slim pill that stays on top of every app and Space. Mark a moment, mute, or stop — and tune the panel’s opacity so it never gets in the way.
Missed something? Live transcript has your back
Follow every conversation as it happens in real time. Speaker-labelled lines stream the moment they’re said — scroll back or search without interrupting the call.
If the rollout slips we should know by Wednesday at the latest.
Cool. Let’s also put a task behind that so it doesn’t get lost.
I think that works.
The other argument could be made that even if we build it…

Botless meetings, finally
Get notes and transcripts without adding anyone to the call. When a meeting starts, note1 shows one small prompt — record locally, or invite the notetaker bot when you want one.
- No bot necessary when you record locally
- One prompt when a meeting starts — record or dismiss
- Auto-dismisses and never nags twice about the same call
Let summaries build while you stay focused
Real-time notes update during the call — decisions, owners, and action items included. Leave every meeting with instant, ready-to-share insights.

What are the system requirements?
The note1 desktop app requires macOS 15 or later on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are not supported. On macOS 26 and later the app uses Apple’s newest on-device transcription engine for the best live transcript quality.
Does note1 join my meeting as a bot?
Only if you want it to. The desktop app records directly on your Mac, so nothing joins the call — but the same meeting prompt also lets you invite the notetaker bot when you prefer. You should still follow local recording-consent rules and let participants know when you are recording.
Which permissions does the app ask for?
Three macOS permissions: Microphone (your voice), Screen & System Audio Recording (the other participants’ audio), and Speech Recognition (on-device live transcription). macOS may periodically ask you to re-confirm the screen and system audio permission — that is a macOS security feature, not a bug.
What happens to my audio and transcripts?
Live speech recognition runs on your Mac using Apple’s on-device engine. Your recording is then securely uploaded to your note1 workspace, where the final transcript, summary, and action items are generated — the same place your other note1 meetings live.
How do I install it?
Download the DMG, drag note1 into your Applications folder, and open it. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings. Sign in happens in your browser with your note1 account.
How do updates work?
The app updates itself. It checks for new versions daily and you can update any time from the menu bar via “Check for Updates…”. Release notes are published with each version.
Is the desktop app free?
Yes, the download is free. Meetings you record count toward your note1 workspace plan, just like meetings captured with the browser extension.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit note1 from the menu bar and drag the app from Applications to the Trash. You can also revoke its permissions under System Settings → Privacy & Security at any time.
