Ask note1

Ask anything your meetings know.

Ask questions about past meetings: what was decided, who owns the follow-up or where a topic came up. Ask note1 gives you a short answer and links to the source in the dashboard, Slack, on your Mac or in your own AI tools.

Answers grounded in the meeting record

Ask note1 uses speaker insights for talk time, current action-item status for open work and transcripts for what people said. Each source stays linked to the answer so you can check it.

Ask note1

Did the launch date move, and are the QA assignment and pricing note done?

The launch date stayed the same. Danny still has the task to assign a QA owner. The pricing note from Pipeline handoff is complete.

One assistant, wherever the question comes up

Start a chat in the dashboard and pick it up on your Mac. Ask in Slack when the question comes up in a thread. What note1 can read depends on where you ask and who can see the reply.

A dock beside every page

Keeps the conversation while you move between home, calendar and meetings. On a meeting page it offers to talk about that one; a cited moment scrolls the transcript and seeks the player.

In Slack, for the thread or for you

Mention @note1 in a thread for a shared answer that uses team-visible meetings. /n1 replies privately, using your meeting access when your Slack identity matches your note1 account.

Maya  @note1 did we agree Danny ships the retry this week?
note1  Yes. Danny committed to Friday in Thursday's standup 12:41. The item is still open.

On your Mac, mid-call

Say “Hey note1” during a call and ask out loud. The overlay answers about the meeting in progress or anything earlier, without leaving the call.

Hey note1

what did Agnes say about the migration earlier?

At 08:14 she said the invite reminders should go out once a day at most; the rest can wait for the batch job.

In Claude, ChatGPT and your agents

The same tools run behind the note1 MCP server: search, meeting insights, action items, topic trackers, scheduling. Your own assistant uses them with your permissions.

Turn an answer into a next step

When you ask about open work, the answer shows action-item cards with their current status. Complete a task from its card, or tell Ask note1 what to change.

  • Complete, reopen or reassign action items. Use the chat or the action-item card in the answer.
  • Create an action item. Ask it to add a task for Maya to send the deck, linked to the meeting.
  • Start a topic tracker. Track pricing mentions in past and future meetings.
  • Schedule a recording. Point the notetaker at a calendar event or a meeting link.
Reassign the invite reminder to @Agnes and track mentions of “pricing”
Done. The invite reminder is now Agnes's. Your personal tracker Pricing watches “pricing”, “price increase” and “discount” across past and future meetings.

Series and sequence

Recurring meetings are a series. “Last time” is the previous standup; “the previous meeting” is the one before the one you were talking about.

The page and the thread

On a meeting page it knows the meeting on screen. In a Slack thread it reads the thread, so “is this right?” is checked against the meetings.

Private meetings stay private

In the dashboard and on your Mac, Ask note1 follows your meeting access. /n1 uses that access when your Slack identity matches your note1 account; an unmatched identity sees only team-visible meetings. Public @note1 replies use team-visible meetings, except when a participant explicitly asks about their own private meeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Support
What can I ask note1?

Ask what was decided, what you promised, who spoke the most, which tasks are still open or when a topic last came up. Ask note1 checks the meetings you can access and links its answers to the relevant transcripts, action items or insights.

Where can I ask?

In the dashboard dock on every page, in Slack by mentioning @note1 or with the /n1 command, on the Mac by saying "Hey note1" during a call, and from Claude, ChatGPT or your own agents through the note1 MCP server.

Does it respect private meetings?

Yes. The dashboard uses your meeting access. In Slack, /n1 uses your access only when your Slack identity matches your note1 account; otherwise it uses team-visible meetings. Public @note1 replies use team-visible meetings, with a narrow exception when a participant explicitly asks about their private meeting.

How does it find things: keywords or meaning?

Both, on every plan. An exact phrase finds the line where it was said; a question in your own words can find the same moment even if the meeting used different terms.

Can it act, or only answer?

It can act. Complete, reassign or create action items, start and change topic trackers, and schedule recordings, from the chat and through MCP, always as you and within your permissions.

Does it remember the conversation?

Yes. Your chats are saved per person. Follow-up questions can refer to the meetings discussed earlier in the same conversation.

Is there a limit?

Each plan includes a monthly Ask note1 allowance in tokens; Business is unlimited. The usage page shows where you are in the month.
