Start with the audio you already have.

Bring an interview from your recorder, a saved work call or an in-person discussion into the same workspace as your other meetings. You can upload the original supported audio file directly.

Choose the original recording

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and OGG are supported. Keep the clearest version available; repeatedly compressing or converting a recording cannot restore missing speech.

Give the conversation a useful title

Use the customer, topic or meeting name so the resulting transcript is easy to recognize in your workspace.

Review names and commitments

Background noise, overlapping voices and unfamiliar names can affect transcription. Check the transcript before relying on a quote or assigning follow-up work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Support
How do I transcribe an audio file to text with note1?

In your workspace, choose New meeting → Upload recording. Select an audio file, set a title, transcription language and summary type, then upload. When processing finishes, open the meeting to read its transcript, summary and action items.

Which formats does note1 support for audio file transcription?

note1 accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and OGG recordings. Your upload form shows the currently accepted extensions and workspace file-size limit before you submit.

Is this for live speech or existing audio files?

This page covers existing audio files. For live meetings, use the note1 Notetaker or the Mac app. Imported recordings join the same workspace after processing.

Can I use note1 for interview transcription?

Yes. Upload an interview recording to review its transcript and AI notes. Check important quotes, names and conclusions against the conversation before sharing them.

Is my uploaded recording private?

Uploaded meetings are private to you by default. Audio is processed on the server, and access to the meeting follows note1’s workspace permissions.

What limits and usage charges apply?

The upload form shows your workspace’s current file-size limit. Submitting reserves one meeting allowance and uses normal storage, transfer and processing balances. Canceling a pending upload does not refund its meeting allowance or transfer usage.

How long does transcription take?

The transcript and notes are ready after the recording finishes uploading and processing. Processing time varies; there is no fixed turnaround for every file.
