Transcribe a saved Zoom recording.

Bring a saved MP4 from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or another recording tool into note1. The meeting can become searchable even when the note1 Notetaker was not on the original call.

Download the MP4 file

Download the MP4 from your recording service, then select it in note1. You need access to download the file; pasting a cloud-recording link will not upload it.

Keep the spoken audio

MP4 is a media container. The recording needs an audible speech track for transcription; changing a file’s name to .mp4 will not convert it.

Review the follow-up

Use the summary to catch up, then check decisions and task ownership against the transcript before acting on them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Support
Can I convert an MP4 recording to text?

Yes. Upload the MP4 through note1’s Upload recording form. note1 processes its audio into a meeting transcript, summary and action items.

Can I transcribe a saved Zoom recording?

Yes. If you have permission to download the meeting as an MP4, select that file in note1’s upload form. The note1 Notetaker does not need to have joined the original meeting.

Do I need to extract an MP3 from my MP4?

No. You can submit the supported MP4 file directly. The transcription workflow processes the audio from your recording.

Why might an MP4 produce little or no transcript?

A recording with no audio, very quiet speech, music rather than speech, or an unreadable audio track may not produce a useful transcript. Check the original recording before uploading.

Is my uploaded recording private?

Uploaded meetings are private to you by default. Audio is processed on the server, and access to the meeting follows note1’s workspace permissions.

What limits and usage charges apply?

The upload form shows your workspace’s current file-size limit. Submitting reserves one meeting allowance and uses normal storage, transfer and processing balances. Canceling a pending upload does not refund its meeting allowance or transfer usage.

How long does transcription take?

The transcript and notes are ready after the recording finishes uploading and processing. Processing time varies; there is no fixed turnaround for every file.
