Import a recording from Voice Memos.

Export your recorded interview or debrief from Voice Memos, then upload the file to note1. Read its transcript and notes alongside your other meetings.

Export the voice memo as a file

In Apple Voice Memos, use the recording’s Share action and save it to Files or transfer it to your computer. Select the exported M4A in note1.

Use the original M4A

M4A is supported directly. You do not need to convert your voice memo to MP3 or rename its extension before importing it.

Check voices recorded at a distance

Phone microphones may pick up nearby voices more clearly than people across the room. Review names and important details in the transcript.

Frequently Asked Questions

Support
Can note1 transcribe M4A files?

Yes. M4A is an accepted audio format for recording imports. Select the file from your device, set the title and transcription preferences, then upload it for processing.

How do I turn an Apple Voice Memo into text?

Share or export the recording from Voice Memos to obtain the audio file. Open note1’s Upload recording form and select the exported M4A. The processed meeting includes the transcript and AI notes.

Does note1 automatically sync my Voice Memos?

No. This workflow is a manual file import. Export the recording you want to use and select it in note1; it does not connect to or sync your Voice Memos library.

Should I convert M4A to MP3 before uploading?

No. You can upload the M4A directly. Conversion is unnecessary and may reduce audio quality if it recompresses the recording.

Is my uploaded recording private?

Uploaded meetings are private to you by default. Audio is processed on the server, and access to the meeting follows note1’s workspace permissions.

What limits and usage charges apply?

The upload form shows your workspace’s current file-size limit. Submitting reserves one meeting allowance and uses normal storage, transfer and processing balances. Canceling a pending upload does not refund its meeting allowance or transfer usage.

How long does transcription take?

The transcript and notes are ready after the recording finishes uploading and processing. Processing time varies; there is no fixed turnaround for every file.
